Ben’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution.
Ben earned his undergraduate degree in biological systems engineering from Kansas State University before earning his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. During law school, he served as vice president and then as president of the Intellectual Property Law Society. He also served as a Staff Editor and then Managing Editor of the Kansas Law Review, which published his student comment examining copyright’s fair use doctrine. His engineering background helps him understand complex technologies and approach intellectual property matters from both technical and legal perspectives.
Ben also gained experience working with Kansas appellate courts. Before his third year of law school, he served as a summer intern for the Kansas Court of Appeals, where he developed his legal research and writing skills while gaining insight into appellate practice. During his final year, Ben interned in the chambers of Justice Daniel Biles of the Kansas Supreme Court, assisting with research and writing matters before the court.
