Jason has over twenty years of experience working in the technology industry as a software design engineer and patent attorney. His practice focuses on advising clients on patent matters and other legal issues pertaining to research, development, and commercialization of complex emerging technologies. He specializes in combining his strong technical skills together with his extensive patent preparation and litigation experience to craft patents and patent portfolios designed to withstand the rigors and scrutiny of post-grant challenges and litigation.
Jason started his career as a software design engineer at Compressor Controls Corporation in 1994 working on embedded control systems for the oil and gas industry. From 2000 to 2005, Jason was in private practice with various IP boutique law firms. From 2005 to 2018, Jason served as in-house counsel at SAP supporting patent portfolio development, IP operations, and patent monetization. Since 2018, Jason has returned to private practice as a patent attorney.
Jason has experience drafting and litigating patents in many areas of software, database technology, networking, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
