Kyle Donnelly practices in the field of intellectual property law and is a registered patent attorney. He counsels clients in all areas of intellectual property including the acquisition and enforcement of patents, trademarks and copyrights. He has handled patent applications covering a wide variety of technologies including composite materials, water purification and distillation, LED lighting systems, railroad equipment, safes and secure storage, road repair equipment, furniture and housewares, and sports equipment. He also provides advice and opinions on patentability, validity, and infringement of patents, as well as the availability and registration of trademarks and copyrights.
Kyle is involved in all phases of intellectual property matters. In addition to helping clients secure and maintain their intellectual property rights, he also assists with enforcing those rights when necessary. A significant portion of his practice involves helping clients resolve their intellectual property disputes, whether that is through license negotiations, litigation, alternative dispute resolution, or administrative proceedings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Kyle has over seven years of industry experience in mechanical and fire protection engineering and is a retired professional engineer. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University in 2002 and received his law degree from the Washburn University School of Law in 2012. He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, is a member of the Missouri and Kansas Bars, and is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas.
